BOYD - R. Ray Russell, 78, retired owner of Ray's Automotive in Boyd, went to be with our Lord, July 14, 2010, in Decatur.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Boyd Cemetery.

Dr. Wayne Martin and the Reverend Ken May to officiate. Pallbearers: Chris Gilbert, Matt Newby, Justin Russell, Kyle Streng, Rusty Rice, and Jason Cobb.

Ray was born October 12, 1931 to William E. and Geneva (White) Russell in Childress. He married Arlene Dankel on April 11, 1959 in Fort Worth. Ray served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. He was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge #1195 in Fort Worth. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Arlene Russell of Boyd; son, Michael Russell and wife Tammie of Boyd; daughter, Lynda Streng and husband John of Boyd; 4 grandchildren, Justin and Brandie Russell, Kyle and Emily Streng; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
